Service Fees
At Lay Travel Group, our professional Travel Advisors spend many hours and dollars each year training, experiencing cruises, tours and resorts, and visiting destinations so we can provide better recommendations to our clients. We do charge fees to help fund this professional development. The fees we charge represent less than 1% of our revenue each year.
Custom Travel Plan Fee ($150 for every 7-days of travel per booking)
The Custom Travel Plan Fee is charged when a customized itinerary is developed either at the client's request or because the travel components required must be individually researched and selected since they are not part of a travel provider's pre-packaged offerings. We charge $150 for every 7 days of travel. Examples: A six-night itinerary is charged $150. An eight-night itinerary is charged $300. A fourteen-night itinerary is charged $300, etc. Anything that is pre-packaged (cruises, resorts, tours, etc.) are not charged this fee. However, if one of these components is part of a larger, custom plan, the fee will apply.
Cancellation Fee ($35 per person)
The Cancellation Fee will be applied to each person travelling and is in addition to any cancellation charges, lost deposits, penalties, etc. that individual travel suppliers may charge.
Air Management Fee ($40 per person, per air reservation)
The Air Management Fee will be charged for each air booking made and serviced by Lay Travel Group. This fee covers the time it takes to research flight options and to manage air scheduling and operational changes. This is a flat fee regardless of air reservation price. This fee is not charged when airfare is purchased as part of the services offered by cruise lines, resort packages, tour companies, etc.
Non-Commissionable Components Fee (15% of Component Gross Cost)
The Non-Commissionable Fee is charged when a travel component does not include payment to Lay Travel Group. This includes many rail bookigns, theatre and special event tickets, etc. For these items, a fee equal to 15% of the cost of the item will be charged.
